Fuel filters.
If your car has poor fuel pressure, hesitates, appears sluggish or you are unsure when it was serviced properly then you may need a fuel filter.
I wasn't sure about mine so decided to replace it.
I contacted the dealer who wanted 50 GBP for a unit and the local parts store wanted 30 GBP.
The Porsche shop has them for 18 GBP.
Not happy with that I thought I would have a look on EBAY but didn't have much luck there either.
There was plenty for 911's, 924 turbo, 944's and 924S's but diddly for the 924NA.
Then I also discovered that there is two type of filters, just to complicate the issue.
Earlier and later type have different connections for the hoses and adaptors are required.
If the wrong one is purchased and you are lucky the old filter has the adaptors and it is just a matter of swapping them over.
You may need crush washers if they are not supplied.
Still on the hunt I looked at a few suppliers and located a bosch filter 71021 at www.autohausaz.com/index.HTML
It already comes with adaptors and for the price I bought 2.
If you don't want adaptors the 71020 is available.
Mine is fitted, replacing a smaller unit which was long overdue going by the crap that came out of it. It went straight in with no problems.
Pays to shop around.
Ozzie.
